The Color Purple

One of the most touching films I've ever seen is The Color Purple. I saw this film many years ago and every time I see it again, I anjoy it a lot. The strength of the characters and the story itself make of this film one of the most unforgettable stories on the silver screen.

This is the story of Celie, and afro-american woman who suffers discrimination and abuse since her childhood. She is separated from her sister Nettie, who travels to Africa as a misioner. Celie has the opportunity to learn a lot fron Shug Avery, a gorgeous singer who lives in her house for short periods of time. Shug teaches Celie about her value as a human being, since Celie's husband treats her as a slave. Another woman who inspires Celie is Sofia, who is able to hit a man to make people respect black women. At the end, Celie gets success with a pant's business and one day she meets her sister Nettie after many years. Nettie arrives from Africa with her two children. This is a particularly touching scene. The two sisters meet again and their happiness is overwhelming.

This movie teaches us a lot about the value of every person no matter their conditions. Besides that it inspires us to fight against the different obstacles we find in our lives and to live thinking in our future and our dreams.
